把后院的梯子竖起来通到天上;
把天上的月亮摘下来抗在肩上;
下梯子;
把肩上的月亮放在床边;
眼睛看窗外的霜;
从计算机调出老家西雅图的照片;

data moon;
input moon $ bed hometown $;
cards;
half 1 Seattle
full 2 Beijing
quarter 3 Shanghai
;
run;

proc print data=moon;
run;

SAS LOG FILE:

1 data moon;
2 input moon $ bed hometown $;
3 cards;

NOTE: The data set WORK.MOON has 3 observations and 3 variables.
NOTE: The DATA statement used 0.29 seconds.

7 ;
8 run;
9 data moon;
10 input moon $ bed hometown $;
11 cards;

NOTE: The data set WORK.MOON has 3 observations and 3 variables.
NOTE: The DATA statement used 0.2 seconds.

15 ;
16 run;
17
18 proc print data=moon;
19 run;

NOTE: The PROCEDURE PRINT used 0.17 seconds.

OBS MOON BED HOMETOWN

1 half 1 Seattle
2 full 2 Beijing
3 quarter 3 Shanghai

“没有ERROR!”你象其他几十年经验的SAS PROGRAMMER一样松了一口气。不过,离
到药厂拿OFFER,办H1B,申请绿卡,还差几十MILES。

我们的问题是:SAS是什么?
答案由两句话组成:

1) A SAS PROGRAM IS MADE UP OF STEPS;
2) A STEP IS MADE UP OF STATEMENTS。

HOMEWORK:
1) 再读李白三稿,试指出其间的不同;
[you can go to Bancova.com to read more]

BTW:

Thank sml for her warm comments on her Bancova experiences.
Thank 村姑 for her nice comments on her Bancova experiences.

And thank those over 300 students who have shown their great interest in SAS.

Our current dilema is that we can only hold 5-6 students but we have 325 applications.

Since we don't want to disappoint our friends, we decided to do the following:

1) Formally open an online seminar called ezSAS: every body can register, every body can learn SAS. We will post our writings about SAS, homework, interesting lessons, examples, data sets etc. Our goal is: as long as you read these, and do the exercises, and participate in our activities, you will be able to do the self-study and become a good middle level SAS programmer. We don't guarantee any thing; your hard work does.

2) We will keep the small class as a training of leadership so that the best performed students can join us in a more family manner and so that these students can help the bigger class.

3) We encourage students to make their blogs at Bancova training center. We encourage students to "speak out".Bancova is using a very powerful software adopted by many universities (like Oxford University in England). Make your blogs interesting and informative so that other visitors (like hiring managers from companies can easily find you).

4) Every thing at Bancova is free in the sense that students do not pay any thing. Some people with suspecious thinking style would ask "why?" "No free lunches" in America! True. No free lunch. Bancova is not really free. It is only that you do not pay. Frank and I spent tons of time. We just "pay" for you. And we are happy to do so. There are many volunteering services in America. Money is the dominant factor in the world. But not every body does every thing for moen. You don't have to believe. You just observe.
